The stories of mothers can reshape our own lives and our world.

In this new upcoming digital event Mother's Rising, we will listen to stories
of mothers who’ve turned personal loss and tragedy into a devoted effort to be
of service to others, told by their children.
This free livestreaming event will also feature stories from Mothers,
and performances from various artists.

This enlightening experience will be led by Murray Nossel,
founder and director of World Mother Storytelling Project and co-creator of the
Narativ listening and storytelling method. Nossel first developed the concepts of
this method working as a clinical psychologist in New York City,
during the height of the AIDS Epidemic of the 1980's. He has taught storytelling
for 25 years in more than 50 countries to more than 10,000 people.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT TO SEE DURING THE EVENT?
Our host Murray Nossel will bring his storytelling process to help children (and adult children) learn to tell the stories of their mothers. Learning to tell our mothers stories, and hearing those stories we never have, is a way to connect with them and ourselves more deeply than we normally would.

During this event, Murray will guide pairs of mothers and their children, and the children alone, through the process of listening to their mother's stories and then re-telling them with fresh understanding, insight, and empathy.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND WORLD MOTHER LIVE?
Mothers Rising is the perfect event to experience with your mother. We all have different relationships with our mothers and children, and by listening to others tell their stories, we can come to appreciate our own. This year's event is appropriate for mothers and children of all ages.

LEARN HOW TO GIVE YOUR MOTHER, AND YOURSELF,
THE GIFT OF HER STORY.
Over the course of the event, you will learn how to listen without judgment, opinion or preconception; how to interview your mother to gather her stories using Narativ’s unique methodology, and how to take the raw material you collected to create a compelling story. Even if your mother is no longer in this world, you can learn to tell her story from reconstructed memories that live on.
The World Mother Storytelling Project is a global initiative to teach sons/daughters/offspring to listen to and tell their mothers’ stories.

By listening to and telling our mothers’ stories, we can transform our relationship with our mothers and ourselves. In this way, World Mother aspires to uncover the hidden knowledge and wisdom of mothers. To learn more, please visit our About page.

The World Mother Storytelling Project is honored to be affiliated with Everytown For Gun Safety.

They are the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country with nearly six million supporters and more than 375,000 donors including moms, mayors, survivors, students, and everyday Americans who are fighting for common-sense gun safety measures that can help save lives.
